The flakes fall softly, and the white splendour continues to pile up hour after hour. The villages are lit up for Christmas and the smell of mulled wine mingles with the sound of traditional Christmas carols in the alleyways. Do you fancy a slow, traditional Christmas in one of the most authentic valleys in South Tyrol?
12.11.2024Every year from mid-September, the world's skiing elite gather on the Val Senales Glacier to prepare for the upcoming competition season. 40 special training runs are available for this purpose. But why is altitude training so popular? And how can you reap the benefits, too?
18.10.2024It's only September, the first leaves are turning colour at lower altitudes and we're already thinking about winter? What seems premature is not so unrealistic. On the Val Senales Glacier, at 3,212 metres above sea level, where temperatures don't rise above 15 degrees even in summer, the first snowflakes are already falling in September. What does that mean? That we are the first ski resort in South Tyrol to open its doors for the winter season - in the second half of September. Today, we want to share with you why we always look forward to the winter season in particular.
01.09.2024Are you a passionate hiker and perhaps have been travelling to South Tyrol and the Alps for a long time? Then a tour on the Val Senales Glacier should definitely be on your bucket list. But even if you already have some experience in the mountains, there are a few additional things to bear in mind when glacier hiking. We'll enlighten you!
22.08.2024The air is already noticeably cooler on the Val Senales Glacier in September. But the many thousand warmly wrapped sheep crossing the glacier don't seem to mind. Fascinated hikers line the edge of the path, watching the cheerful trotting and listening to the jingling of the many bells. But what is actually happening here?
17.07.2024I was really surprised when they started to dismantle the entire cable car in Val Senales, Italy, last summer to put up a completely new lift. I don't normally pay much attention to what they're doing down there - I prefer to fly around high above them undisturbed. But I find it fascinating how technological progress is bringing the habitats of humans and us eagles ever closer together. Cable cars up the mountains are just one way for people to take to the skies.
